Director
Shea Wallon is Managing Director for Bank of America Merrill Lynch and an Investment Officer in the Global Strategic Capital Group ("GSC"). GSC manages over $9 billion of direct private equity, hedge fund and private equity fund investments on behalf of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Wallon leads the Strategic Equity Investments efforts for Global Banking & Markets and oversees a portfolio of over 50 investments. He currently serves on seven private company boards in the financial services and the financial technology sectors.
Prior to joining GSC in 2007, Mr. Wallon was a Senior Vice President at GE Capital. In his eight years at GE Capital, he originated and managed strategic equity investments on behalf of General Electric, managed a proprietary book of distressed debt assets, and co-founded a leverage finance team to originate and structure transactions in the sports and entertainment markets.
Mr. Wallon started his career in investment banking with a focus on financial institutions where he advised banks and finance companies on M&A transactions and capital offerings. He was an Analyst for two years at Bear Stearns in their Financial Institutions Group and spent an additional two years as an Associate at M.A. Shapiro, an investment banking boutique specializing in the commercial banking industry.
Mr. Wallon earned his M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Union College where he was elected into the school's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
